Where the name comes from

House of Mandeville

House of Mandeville is named after Bernard Mandeville (1670–1733), a Dutch-English physician, philosopher and writer who studied in Leiden. In his best-known work, The Fable of the Bees (1714), he explored how individual ambitions and interests together shape the way a society functions and prospers. His thinking about the interplay between the individual and the community sits well with MORE, where having a place of your own and being part of something larger go hand in hand.
