Connectedliving

MORE is not a traditional housing project. It is a new city district within the Leiden Bio Science Park.

This is not a residential area that is ‘finished’ on completion. MORE grows into a lively mixed-use environment where people live, work, study, exercise, relax and meet. With eight buildings, around 1,500 homes and a wide range of amenities, MORE is set to become one of the most remarkable places to live in Leiden.

Where the name comes from

Utopia as inspiration

MORE is inspired by the ideas of Thomas More, a sixteenth-century English humanist, philosopher and statesman whose book Utopia (1516) describes the ideal society: one where people share a great deal and live and work together in harmony. The inhabitants of Utopia have everything they need at their disposal.

One area. Eight buildings. One shared vision.

The map shows how the different buildings relate to one another within the district. Several have already been completed and are in use, while others will be developed over the coming years.

The icons show how amenities and functions are spread across the area. Together they form the four pillars of MORE: Community, Ideas, Living and Health. The result is a neighbourhood built around connection, inspiration, health and an active lifestyle.

Connected by green

Greenery plays a leading role at MORE. MORE is the green heart of the neighbourhood: a place to walk, unwind and meet one another.

Among the trees, the grass and the water, a welcoming setting takes shape — somewhere to step outside for a moment, take a stroll, gather with others or simply find some quiet.

A green walking route runs through the park, linking the different buildings and places within MORE. Along the water, the terraces and the amenities, you discover another corner of the neighbourhood at every turn. The greenery isn't just something to look at, but a natural part of everyday life.

At the same time, nature is given plenty of room. A variety of plants and trees creates a rich, green environment where birds, insects and other wildlife find their place. The greenery offers shade and cooling, while rainwater is collected and held in the landscape.

Park MORE becomes a place where living, meeting and nature come together, a green heart for everyone who lives, works or passes through here.

More Living

A good living environment is about more than beautiful buildings.

MORE makes room for many different ways of living. From student housing and starter apartments to mid-market and premium homes for movers, researchers, international professionals and Leiden locals.

MORE 1, MORE 2 and MORE 5 have already been completed. In the years ahead, the district keeps growing with MORE 3, MORE4, MORE 6, MORE 7 and MORE 8. Each development has a character of its own, yet always belongs to the same community.

This isn't just a district taking shape. It's a way of life.

More Health

Healthy living starts with your surroundings.

That's why MORE is designed as a place that invites you outside. You stroll through green spaces, hop on your bike towards the city centre or the station, and meet up on a terrace or in the park. Sport, exercise and relaxation aren't a separate destination, but part of your daily routine.

With room for greenery, health, sport and time outdoors, this is a place where wellbeing matters just as much as living.

More Connection

The strength of MORE lies not just in its buildings, but above all in its people.

Students, researchers, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, expats, teachers and Leiden locals will soon live here side by side — and with each other. You meet at the restaurants and cafés, on a walk, on a terrace, at a flexible workspace or simply on your way home.

It's exactly this mix of people that makes MORE a district where ideas are born, collaborations grow and neighbours know each other.
